    That glass awning was always one of my favorite parts of the Grohmann. It was such a nod to the Industrial style that is very popular today. The rest of the building was Old Germanic, but here was this industrial (steel showing) glass rain awning. And it’s useful too!

      You’re right, not just about the usefulness (😄) but also your thoughts on the architecture. Plus the lines of the canopy are kind of Art Moderne, this also giving a nod to MSOE’s Campus Center building (the old Val. Blatz brewery bottle house) across the street.
