“Slice of Ice” almost ready!

County parks workers began putting down the water earlier this week, and today I saw the Zamboni smoothing over the snow we got yesterday.

I’m at Starbucks (of course😄), which is apparently the only Starbucks in the U.S. and probably therefore in the world that is part of a park. Definitely the only Starbucks with an ice rink and skate rental!

Milwaukee’s Slice of Ice rink opens tomorrow, December 15, with FREE skate rentals from 4-6 pm. ‘Tis the season!

Nothing like a skating rink (and coffee to boot!).

Now I am jealous. Just say ‘Zamboni’ to a Canadian and she gets all shivery! Seriously, I love ice skating and it’s just impossible in France (no decent rinks).

We Canadians love our Zambonis! 🙂 I got pretty excited when I saw it in your photo.

I would love a Starbucks in a park, especially with an ice rink!

    • My family lived in Brantford for a couple of years, and you no doubt know which famous athlete is from there! I knew that people loved hockey so much that everyone seemed to have an ice rink in their backyard, but I didn’t know about the Zamboni love affair! I should have, though, right? 😄
