River Diamonds

Today is a gray, sleet-drizzling day in Milwaukee. So it seems like a good time to post a short video from a field trip to the park with our dog a couple weeks ago. Just a few cheerful moments of sparkling sunlight dancing atop breezy ripples in the Menomonee River on a beautiful November afternoon.

About Katherine Wikoff

I am a college professor (PhD in English, concentration rhetoric) at Milwaukee School of Engineering, where I teach film and media studies, political science, digital society, digital storytelling, writing for digital media, and communication. While fragments of my teaching and scholarship interests may quite naturally meander over to my blog, this space is intended to function as a creative outlet, not as part of my professional practice. Opinions are my own, etc.

    • Thank you for letting me know that. Sorry! I’ll try to figure out what’s wrong.

    • Hmm, I’m not sure what’s up with the video. Sometimes when I view my entry I see the video itself, and it plays when I click on it. And then other times there’s just an empty white space with a “play” arrow. When I click that, there’s a brief delay but then the video appears and plays. The new Gutenberg editor is not my favorite thing, and this is the second post where my media appears to be messed up (the first being “November Tracery). And actually I’ve now noticed that the aspect ratios of all my photos in WordPress blogposts have been changed, apparently to fit some new universal standard? Sigh. I’m sorry the video wouldn’t play for you. If I can figure out how to fix it, I certainly will.

If you click on the 3 dots at the left of the video link it will allow you to download. Do that and you’ll be able to watch it. I loved the sparkle!
