Night trees, Miller Valley

I’ve become quite fond of my iPhone’s ability to capture fleeting images that catch my eye. On my way home from teaching a night class yesterday, I noticed these trees at the traffic light on the far western edge of Miller Valley (home of Miller Brewing—now known as MillerCoors following multiple bouts of conglomerationitis 🙂 ). So easy just to grab my phone, roll down my window, and click!

I love the fact that my phone is a camera. And I hate the idea that Miller merged with Coors. I’m not much of a beer drinker, but after Milwaukee’s legacy of being a beer city to lose all the great breweries is sad. At least the Pabst complex is finally being refurbished or replaced as the Schlitz was. Quite an eyesore when they close. Maybe I should be glad that Coors stepped in and “saved” Miller.

    • Yes, I have mixed feelings, too. There’s a hometown pride that sort of goes away when a foreign company takes over a local business. At least Miller is now at least partially U.S. owned once again.
