Trees Like Cotton

Yesterday’s snow was so pretty, laying itself down thick and heavy on the tree branches. Everything was drenched in white. Then today in the sunshine all that snow started falling off in globs, leaving behind these odd clusters of “cotton” on the branches.

    So Cool. I was fooled a couple years ago driving through Kansas in early December.. Looking ahead was a white field. I mentioned to my husband that it looked like there was snow up ahead. As we approached the area and as I surveyed the field I realized that it was a cotton field that was just machine picked and had left residual cotton in the field and along the roadside. It was so unexpected and we learned something new about KS crops. Yup, and I made my husband pull over so I could gather some of it in it’s raw form along the roadside.
