I have one Hatfield and several McCoys in my ancestors. I don’t think the Hatfield is related (although there were rumors among the generation before me about the feud). Her father was a Hafhill not a real Hatfield – Susannah Hatfield (1789-1838) was my 4th great grandmother. For some reason, she changed her name to Hatfield while her brothers and sisters did not. Elizabeth McCoy (1839-1917) was my 2nd great grandmother and I can trace her line back to Ireland.
